Nipple Candida infection is a very rare one, but it affects mostly on the most unsuitable moment: during the breastfeeding period. Liking darkness and moist, Candida fills perfectly on wet nipples.

If you have symptoms like:
  • Itching, sore, red, burning nipples,
  • After a period of normal, pain-free breastfeeding, you start to fill acute pain just after feeding,
  • After a period of normal, pain-free breastfeeding, your nipples become sore,
  • The usual remedies for sore nipples are not effective anymore,
  • You just undergone an antibiotic treatment or had any other Candida trigger,
  • Baby has oral Candida (thrush) or diaper rash.

If you have these symptoms (or want to avoid them) try some simple home remedies for Candida nipple infection:

  • Give your bra and breasts a sun bath. Candida hates sunlight, so expose your nipples to sunlight for several minutes several times a day. This will keep Candida away or, if it is already present will kill it.
  • Candida loves moist, so air-dry your nipples after each feeding or after washing the.
  • Avoid plastic-lined breast pads. They irritate the skin and trap leaked milk, creating moist that is heaven for Candida.
  • Replace nursing pads after each feeding with new ones.
  • Wear 100% cotton bras, just like in case of vaginal yeast infection wear cotton underwear.
  • Wash your underwear daily in very hot water. High temperature will kill yeasts.
  • Boil in water pump parts that come in contact with your breasts. You should boil them at least 5 minutes daily.
