Baby thrush (it is only the name, infants, children and grown-ups can develop it too), is nothing but an overgrowth of Candida Albicans in the mouth. Of course it is not related to Candida diet, the subject I enjoy lately. It very frequently coexists with diaper rash, which is nothing else but the baby Candida infection of the opposite end of digestive tube.
The difference between the baby thrush and grown-ups thrush is that grown-ups don’t develop diaper rash by the simple reason they don’t wear diapers. But they develop digestive Candida, because Candida invades the entire digestive tube.
Normally Candida overgrowth is controlled by the immune system, but there are some problems, like weak immunity or wrong Candida diet, that can cause a Candida overgrowth.
Even if baby thrush is considered a non-dangerous condition, it represents a sign that the intestinal flora is disturbed or immune system is weak, or there is an overuse of antibiotics (intended or unintended). It is considered, by some holistic healers and some medical scientists that baby thrush can lead to some serious conditions. As for example, baby thrush can lead to pour nourishment of the baby, because the tongue becomes painful and sore and baby refuses the milk.
Symptoms of baby thrush are hard not to be noticed: milky, white spots and patches on the tongue, on the inner side of the cheeks, on the gums or the part of the lips covered by mucosa. Also a white coating on the tongue is considered to be a baby thrush symptom.
There is also another danger hidden in the baby thrush: it can lead to nipple Candida symptoms, a situation when nourishing the baby becomes problematic for both: for bother and for the baby.
