Anti Candida Diet: Determining your pH.

To know fromwhere to start your Candida diet to relieve your Candida Symptoms, you should know what kind of foods you should take : alcaline Candida Diet or Acid Candida Diet.

To determine your body’s pH level, you can easily do so by using pH paper. Follow directions on the box and determine if you want to test your urine or saliva. When kept dry and stored in a dry environment, the test material will actually remain good for years. The test material may be sensitive to the oils/moisture on your skin which can compromise the test result, so do not over handle your strips if you wish to store them. Saliva is more of a reactive reading than urine.

Readings are: 5.5 Acid — 7.0 Neutral — 8.0 Alkaline

Testing Urine: The first voiding in the morning after 4:00 a.m. will set a baseline. Place the l"
or 2” piece of test paper into urine stream, “shake off” excess fluid, match to color chart
immediately.

Testing Saliva: Anything you put in your mouth — food, water, beverages, toothpaste — will affect the outcome of your test. Do not eat or drink before you test. Drip fresh saliva from under the tongue onto the test strip. Compare to the color chart immediately. Do not allow test material to touch your mouth.

Readings taken first thing in the morning after 4:00 a.m. will give a better indication of the body's metabolic functions. Readings taken throughout the day will be more reactive. Robert O. Young, Ph.D., D.Sc., suggest that urine and saliva should show a reading of 6.8 to 7.2 for optimum balance except immediately after meals when your pH should be 7.2 or higher. Levels may fluctuate until your body becomes more balanced.
Whether your pH is too high or too low, both are considered an acid problem. The result is a host of illnesses. When an individuals pH falls within the correct pH range there is usually improvement in and/or relief from:

• sleep problems (surprise, the minerals that alkalize are also the ones that calm)
• allergies (an alkalizing diet is free of most common allergens allowing the body to heal)
• high or low blood pressure
• blood sugar challenges
• hot flashes
• poor vitamin and mineral absorption
• mood shifts/depression
• digestive problems – diarrhea/constipation and bloating
• stress and tension
• hypoglycemia
• skin problems – too oily/dry
• inflammation of joints, arthritis, aches and pains, stiffness
• headaches
• sinus congestion, breathing difficulties
• rash and itching
• heartburn and acid reflux
• fungal problems (Candida and yeast)
• lack of energy
• flu/colds less often
• immune challenges of all sorts
• premature aging
